The western states of Mexico, Jalisco, Zacatecas, Tepic and Colima offer a wide range of outdoor adventures. The area is dominated by the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountain Range and is a beautiful option for (mountain) biking and hiking adventures. Western Mexico is not really well known for longer trekking or biking tours, nevertheless it is definitely worthwhile exploring. There are not really all that many singposted paths for hiking nor designated areas for cycling.
